Music Box: Sublime Harmonic piccolo / Langdorff & Fils
Switzerland, 1880
Langdorff is a maker of cylinder music boxes in Geneva, Switzerland. This 4-cylinder specimen from 1880 fits into a special storage compartment in the base. Each cylinder has six pieces of music, the names of which are displayed on the back cover. The music box is also equipped with a “cheater attachment” that produces tones like that of a stringed instrument by bringing thin paper in contact with vibrating comb teeth.
