The Min-On Music Museum is currently holding “Music in Peacebuilding” Exhibition II that will run until June 29. The exhibition aims to frame music as a significant force in creating a global society that flourishes in peace and harmonious coexistence. As part of the exhibition, the museum is displaying “Yoko Matsuba Hibaku Piano,” one of the few remaining pianos that survived the atomic bombing of Hiroshima in 1945 with the generous cooperation of Yumiko Takahashi, daughter of the deceased owner.

The exhibition was organized to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II and the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, in rememberance of all the victims who fell prey to the horrors of war. We hope it serves as a message advocating for the worldwide adoption of a “no first use” policy of nuclear weapons and for the global disarmament of these weapons.
