The Tokyo International Music Competition for Conducting, which has been held every three years since 1967, will be renamed the “Tokyo International Conducting Competition”on its 20th anniversary in 2024.
Since it was originally begun as the “Min-On Competition” in 1967, this competition invites the wide participation of capable musicians with the aim of unearthing and nurturing outstanding talent. In addition to providing strong support to such musicians and their musical activities around the world, the Competition also endeavors to promote international cultural exchange.
We are pleased to announce that the general outline of the 2024 Tokyo International Conducting Competition (formerly the “Tokyo International Music Competition for Conducting”) has been finalized as follows.
