On September 20, Thai and Japanese members of the “FUTURE OF ASIA” concert paid a courtesy call on the Min-On Concert Association. They were greeted by Min-On President Kazuto Ito and Executive Managing Director Hideshiro Akiya. The FUTURE OF ASIA unit is comprised of five members from Japan, including AUN & HIDE, and two Thai musicians, Ton and Aoy.
Ton plays the traditional Thai instruments of phin and khaen, while Aoy is the main vocal of fusion band ASIA7. Japan’s AUN & HIDE consists of Ryohei and Kohei Inoue, who play taiko drums and other Japanese instruments, and HIDE, who plays and sings to various other traditional instruments. They are joined for this concert by bassist Goro Katano and keyboardist Hisanobu Notsu.
The visitors later toured the Min-On Music Museum, enjoying its collection of classic pianos and music boxes.
