On June 13, 52 members of the “Ukrainian National Dance Company named after P. Virsky” flew to Narita International Airport via Poland on their third visit to Japan. The Company’s previous Japan tour—which was held at Min-On’s invitation—was in 2003; for its latest tour, 43 performances will be staged at 31 venues across the country, opening in Nagoya from June 17 and closing in Hachioji on August 8, for its latest tour.

The Ukrainian company called on the Min-On Concert Association in Tokyo on June 14, where they visited the Min-On Music Museum and viewed its collection of classic pianos and music boxes. They were greeted by Min-On staff member, who played the Ukrainian national anthem in honor of the guests.

The “Ukrainian National Dance Company named after P. Virsky” is famous for dynamic dances embracing historical and cultural traditions and bringing forward that spirit to modernity. The Company was co-founded by Pavlo Virsky in 1937.
