On Friday, November 27, 2020, the world-renowned taiko drum troupe Maidaiko Aska-Gumi held a Min-On School Concert at Okawa Middle School (Higashikagawa City, Kagawa Prefecture).
This was the first Min-On school concert held in the Shikoku region since the coronavirus pandemic began. Maidaiko Aska-Gumi performed with incredible enthusiasm, saying, “We poured all our energy for the entire year into one performance.”
Although students could not cheer due to safety measures, they expressed their emotion through overwhelming applause, and gave the performance a standing ovation.
*To prevent the spread of the coronavirus, all performers, children and students wore masks or face shields and kept a safe distance from each other.
*These concerts were conducted as public service through the financial support of our dues-paying members.
