On November 14, Maidaiko Asuka-Gumi opened its tour of Taiwan for the first time in four years with a concert at Taipei’s National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall.
The renowned traditional Japanese drum troupe’s fanbase in Taiwan is sizeable; Office of the President senior advisor Liaoyi Liao attended the Taipei concert.
Held under Min-On’s auspices and made possible with subscriber contributions, the Asuka-Gumi tour consisted of nine performances at five venues, with the last held at the National Central University main hall in Taoyuan City on November 26.
