On April 17, His Excellency Seiko Luis Ishikawa Kobayashi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to Japan, called on the Min-On Concert Association in Tokyo.

In their meeting, Ambassador Ishikawa Kobayashi referred to José Antonio Abreu, the Venezuelan polymath who founded El Sistema, a renowned music-education program, who believed that culture and the arts, as well as religion, were vital in humanity’s search to overcome the spiritual crisis the world confronts today. He said Abrue’s insights accorded with those held by Min-On founder Daisaku Ikeda and Min-On’s initiatives, which is why he found such resonance with the association’s efforts.

Following their meeting, the Venezuelan ambassador toured the Min-On Music Museum’s collection of classic pianos and music boxes.
