On February 27, 2024, His Excellency Dr. Durga Bahadur Subedi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Nepal to Japan, paid a courtesy call on the Min-On Concert Association. He was accompanied by his wife, Poonam R. Subedi; Ram Krishna Dhakal, one of Nepal’s most popular vocalists; and Mallika Karki, an award-winning vocalist herself.

They were welcomed by Min-On President Koji Yamaguchi, Vice President Yasuharu Ito, Executive Managing Director Hideshiro Akiya, Managing Director Kiyoshi Komatsu and Adviser Kazuto Ito.

In their meeting, Ambassador Subedi cited the founder of Min-On, the late-Daisaku Ikeda who passed away in 2023, for his philosophy on peacebuilding. The ambassador asked to work with Min-On on the exchange of music and culture so that the people of Nepal and Japan can forge even stronger ties of friendship.

Following their talk, Ambassador Subedi and accompanying guests visited the Min-On Music Museum to tour its collection of classical pianos and music boxes.
