On September 20, His Excellency Dr. Durga Bahadur Subedi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Nepal to Japan, and his spouse, Poonam Subedi, were greeted by Min-On President Kazuto Ito, Executive Managing Director Hideshiro Akiya and Managing Director Kiyoshi Komatsu. The ambassador and his wife were accompanied by four members of a cultural delegation—Udahar Poudel, formerly with the Film Development Corporation; Neeta Pokharel, actress; Ananda Karki, veteran singer; and Shiklav Santosh, composer—from Nepal.
At their meeting, Ambassador Subedi expressed his desire to enhance Nepal-Japan relations through Min-On’s introduction of Nepalese music and culture to audiences in Japan. The ambassador, his wife and the cultural delegation from Nepal later toured the Min-On Music Museum and its collection of musical instruments from around the world, including a short performance on a classic piano.
