On January 30, 2024, Dr. Watson Racius Denis, acting Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the Republic of Haiti to Japan, called on the Min-On Concert Association in Tokyo.

He was welcomed by Min-On President Kazuto Ito and Managing Director Kiyoshi Komatsu.

In their meeting, Mr. Denis shared that Min-On’s vision and initiatives resonated greatly with him, saying the medium of music facilitates mutual understanding and the building of global peace. He added that music was a vital means of communication among Haitians and embedded deeply in daily life, which is why he looked to working closely with Min-On to introduce Haiti’s musical culture to Japanese audiences.

Following the meeting, Chargé d’Affaires Denis toured the Min-On Music Museum’s collection of classical pianos and music boxes.
