On January 23, 2024, Her Excellency Gisela Beatriz García Rivera, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to Japan, paid a courtesy call on the Min-On Concert Association in Tokyo.
She was welcomed by Min-On President Kazuto Ito, Executive Managing Director Hideshiro Akiya and Managing Director Kiyoshi Komatsu.
In their meeting, Ambassador García said she found Min-On founder Daisaku Ikeda’s humanistic insights and beliefs profoundly resonant and expressed her hope to continue working with the association on Cuba-Japan cultural exchange initiatives going forward as 2024 marks the 95th anniversary of formal bilateral relations. Following their meeting, the ambassador toured the Min-On Music Museum’s collection of classical pianos and music boxes.
