On April 13, 2023, His Excellency Pereric Högberg, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Sweden to Japan, visited the Min-On Concert Association in Tokyo. He was greeted by Min-On President Kazuto Ito, Executive Managing Director Hideshiro Akiya and Managing Director Kiyoshi Komatsu, who shared views on bilateral cultural exchange.
Ambassador Högberg said he identified with the principles and activities of Min-On, describing the association as a “common language” that transcends all divides to bring together people worldwide. He also praised Min-On for introducing Japanese audiences to the music and performance art of not only from the Nordic countries, but from every corner of the globe. He said he looked forward to the continued exchange of culture between Sweden and Japan.
Following their talk, the Swedish ambassador toured the newly renovated Min-On Music Museum, where he was shown its collection of classical pianos and music boxes.
