On February 28, 2022, His Excellency Helph Monod Honorat, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Haiti to Japan, paid a courtesy call on the Min-On Concert Association at the Min-On Office in Shinjuku, Tokyo. He was welcomed by President Kazuto Ito and Executive Managing Director Hideo Murata of the Association.
Ambassador Honorat shared that traditional Haitian music served as a vital source of inspiration for his compatriots in rebuilding Haiti following the devastating earthquake that struck his country in 2010. He added that he would strive to forge even stronger bonds of friendship and goodwill between Haiti and Japan through bilateral cultural exchange, working with Min-On in the effort to build peace through the transformative power of music.
