🎶 Today we’ll learn about Mali’s musical culture, including experiencing the griot tradition and the sound of traditional instruments like the kora, ngoni, balafon, djembe and asalato. 🥁🎻
🎸 Guitar music from northern Mali and the Sahel region is known as Desert Blues. The band Songhoy Blues represents this genre’s original, powerful appeal.
🎵 Others musicians recommended by the Embassy of the Republic of Mali in Japan include Ali Farka Touré & Ry Cooder, Oumou Sangaré and Salif Keita.
