On January 5 in Sapporo and on January 6 in Takikawa, a Handcrafted Instruments Workshop and Concert for Children and Parents was held by Kunitaro Ikeda and Akiko Saito.
Parents and children enjoyed making instruments and performing together, and parents also raved about the host’s interaction with their children, and the advice they received from their many years of experience in the world of education.
Many of the participants brought their children to the event as a “winter break research project.” However, the kids who participated had a great time, and the parents also approved, saying, “We’re really glad we came! We made interesting instruments using only the tools around us, and received a lot of advice on how to engage our children.”
The workshop was about 2.5 hours long, but the participants were impressed by how it flew by, and were smiling and laughing right up to the last minute.
