On September 11, Her Excellency Mylene De Joya Garcia-Albano, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of the Philippines to Japan, called on the Min-On Concert Association. She was welcomed by Min-On President Koji Yamaguchi and other museum officials. She later toured the Min-On Music Museum’s collection of classic pianos and music boxes.

In their meeting, Ambassador Garcia-Albano expressed gratitude for the publication of “Min-On Music Journey No. 91: The Philippines” and for Min-On organizing the “Asian Pops 2024” tour featuring Filipino star vocalist Christian Bautista that will travel to 13 venues across Japan from September 16 to October 6.

The Philippine ambassador also said that she found great resonance with the founding principles of Min-On, which seeks to expand mutual understanding and promote peace through the power of music. Reaffirming that the key to peaceful coexistence lay in the exchange among different peoples, she said she looked forward to working with the music association on cultural exchange initiatives as the Philippines and Japan will be celebrating their 70th anniversary of formal diplomatic relations in 2026.
