On September 18, the Bunkyo Civic Hall played host to the “Asian Pops 2024” concert, drawing ambassadors and envoys from 36 diplomatic missions in Tokyo, including Her Excellency Phongsamouth Alavan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic to Japan.
Organized by the Min-On Concert Association, “Asian Pops 2024” features three of the region’s top vocalists: Raisa of Indonesia, Christian Bautista of the Philippines and Alexandra Bounxouei of Laos. In addition to performing scores from their native countries and joined by Japanese artists Hiroshi Urushido on the piano and Masatoshi Kainuma on guitar, the artists came together to sing hit songs from around the world, including Japan. They also sang “Planet of Blooming Flowers,” an original piece composed for the tour in the hope of forging bonds of unity and friendship that reach out from Asia to the world. They will perform at 13 venues across Japan from September 16 to October 6.
