On December 18, 2023, the Min-On Concert Association hosted a special concert event on Japan’s friendship with Latin America, with this night focusing on bilateral ties with the Republic of Chile.
Some 260 people attended the event, which was realized with the generous support of the Embassy of the Republic of Chile in Japan.
In his opening remarks, Chilean Embassy Charge d’affaires Luis Alberto Palma introduced artists from Chile and Japan as well as Chilean music culture.
For the program’s concert segment, three artists—guitarist Alexis Vallejos, pianist Danor Quinteros and Japanese violinist Mai Suzuki—presented the unique traits of Chilean music and culture. They also performed songs from Chile and its neighboring countries in both ensemble or solo gigs.
