Min-On has reached a number of remarkable milestones in its forty-eight-year history:

1961 February Idea of establishing a concert association introduced
1963 October 18 Min-On Concert Association founded
1963 November First Min-On subscription concert held in Tokyo
1964 May Series of admission-free town concerts initiated in Tokyo
1965 January Min-On legally registered as an incorporated foundation under the Japanese Ministry of Education
1965 January First Music Master Class held with Art Blakey
1965 March Monthly magazine “Min-On” published
1966 May First Min-On Competition for Vocalists held (forerunner of the Tokyo International Music Competition)
1966 September First installment of the World Ballet Series held; Novosibirsk Ballet invited
1966 December December First exchange with Jeunesses Musicales de France (JMF); Cecile Ousset piano recital
1967 May The 20th Century Ballet of the Monnaie Royal Theater, the National Theater of Belgium invited
1967 July First Min-On Music Competition for Conducting held
1969 February First Min-On Contemporary Music Festival held
1970 March Orquesta José Basso invited in the first installment of the Min-On Tango Series
1971 Jan First installment of the Asian Folk Dance and Song Series started
1972 July National Ballet of the Republic of Guinea, Djoliba invited
1973 March Grand Ballet of the National Theater of the Opera of Paris invited
1973 April Min-On dispatches Kikunokai (Japanese traditional dance troupe) for first India tour
1973 May May School Concerts Series initiated in Hokkaido
1974 January Min-On makes first presentation of phonographic records to an elementary school
1974 September Bayerische Staatsoper Munchen invited for Japan premiere
1974 November The Min-On Music Library established December Min-On Music Competition for Chamber Ensembles initiated

1975 April The Royal Ballet invited
1975 May First Min-On Italian Music Festival held
1977 July Min-On dispatches first team to research music and dance culture along the Silk Road

1980 September Wiener Staatsoper invited for Japan debut
1981 September Teatro alla Scala invited for Japan debut
1983 September Min-On sponsors its own independent production of opera, Le Nozze di Figaro

1990 June The Netherlands Dance Theater invited
1991 July Min-On Week held in Vienna
1991 August First Tokyo International Choreography Competition held
1992 February Oper der Stadt Koln invited
1992 July Japan Arts Ensemble dispatched for a tour in Egypt and Turkey
1992 September Festival of the Joint ASEAN Performing Troupe held
1994 October Min-On receives Special Certificate of Merit from Bulgarian Ministry of Culture
1995 January Royal Winnipeg Ballet invited
1995 November Japanese Dance troupe Kikunokai dispatched for Nepal tour
1997 September Min-On Culture Center inaugurated. Min-On International Award for Arts established and presented to John Neumeier of the Hamburg Ballet.
1998 March China Central Song and Dance Ensemble of Nationalities invited
1999 August First installment of A Musical Voyage Across Africa series held
2000 September Min-On dispatches young musicians to exchange concerts with the Princess Christina Concours Foundation of the Netherlands
2001 January Min-On Culture Center welcomes its 500,000th visitor since its opening
2002 October First Min-On Symposium “Asia Now” held
2003 November Min-On receives the Order of Cultural Merit from the Polish Ministry of Culture
2003 December Min-On Music Library renamed Min-On Music Museum following an official designation as a music museum by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Board of Education
2004 May Min-On Music Museum opens
2008 October Min-On celebrates 45th anniversary of its establishment
2008 November Korean Traditional Music Association presents commendation to Min-On founder
2008 December Japan tour of the Jordanian National Folklore Group marks the 100th country with which Min-On has engaged in exchange
2009 June The Order of the Horseman of Madara in the Second Degree presented by Bulgarian government
2009 November November Republic of Korea presents Hwa-Gwan Order of Cultural Merit to Min-On founder
2010 August Buenos Aires presents Argentina Bicentennial Commemorative Medal to Min-On founder
2011 June Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of Poland presents Gold Medal for Cultural Merit to Min-On founder
