“Asian Pops 2024” opened on September 17 and ended on October 6 after performing at 13 venues across Japan. The tour, featuring popular vocalists from three Southeast Asian countries as well as from Japan, was held at the invitation of the Min-On Concert Association.

Prior to the premiere concert, Raisa from Indonesia, Alexandra Bounxouei from Laos and Christian Bautista from the Philippines visited Min-On in Tokyo. They expressed joy for the opportunity to perform together for the first time in Japan and to visit different Japanese cities as artists from diverse cultural backgrounds.

“Asian Pops 2024” also featured Hiroshi Urushido, an acclaimed pianist composer and music director in Japan, and fellow Japanese Masatoshi Kainuma on percussions.

Later that evening, the trio held their first concert at Kanagawa Kenmin Hall in Yokohama, where each artist sang songs of love for their homeland and love songs in general, along with famous pop tunes from Japan and the world. They also joined up to sing “Planet of Blooming Flowers,” an original score produced especially for the tour by Mr. Urushido, in Japanese.

For their performance held at the Bunkyo Civic Hall in Tokyo on September 18, 36 ambassadors and representatives of foreign diplomatic missions to Japan gathered to attend the show. After closing their concert at Saitama prefecture, the trio met up with a local chorus group at an exchange event, where the two parties reaffirmed the power of music to transcend national borders and bring people closer together.

“Asian Pops 2024” ended its tour at the Nittera Civic Hall in Nagoya prefecture on October 6. Among the songs performed during the tour were “Serba Salah,” “The Way You Look At Me,” “Jewel of the Mekong,” “First Love,” “Omoide ga Ippai (Full of Memories)” and “Namida SoSo (Down Come My Tears).”

We would like to thank everyone involved in making this tour a success, and to the audiences who attended.
