On June 14 and 15, young musicians from South Korea and Japan performed at the Hanmadang Hall of the Korean Culture Center in Shinjuku, Tokyo, drawing an audience of some 300 people.
This was the sixth in the series of joint concerts that was made possible through the support of the Embassy of Republic of Korea in Japan and Korean Cultural Center.
The latest iteration drew together opera singers of both countries, led by baritone Sehun Park, soprano Shinyoung Oh and pop vocalist Wonwoo from South Korea and tenor TK Takada, soprano TK and pianist TK Shimizu from Japan.
The artists performed a variety of songs, including children’s songs of their respective countries and opera favorites.
They also came together in singing “Time to Say Good Bye,” while Messr. Park and Takada performed “Duet of Friendship” from the opera Don Carlo.
