On February 28, 2025, the famed tango group Fabio Hager Sexteto performed at the Bunkyo Civic Hall as part of the Min-On Concert Association’s long-running Min-On Tango Series initiative for Japanese audiences.
Representatives from ten diplomatic missions in Tokyo led by His Excellency Eduardo Tempone, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Argentine Republic to Japan, attended the event.
A master player of the bandoneon, Fabio Hager and his eponymous group consisted of singer Jesús Hidalgo, pianist Daniel Viacava, first violinist Javier Weintraub, second violinist Damian Gonzalez Gantes, celloist Julian Arellano and contrabassist Pablo Araujo.
The sextet was joined by three star-studded tango groups: Carla & Gaspar, Stage winner of the first-ever World Tango Championship in 2003, as well as Manuela & Juan, Stage winner of the 2014 championship, and Ayelen & Sebastián, Stage winner of the 2024 championship.
