On May 31, His Excellency Nsenda Lukumwena, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic Republic of Congo to Japan, visited the Min-On Concert Association in Tokyo. He was greeted by Min-On President Koji Yamaguchi, Vice President Yasuharu Ito, Executive Managing Director Hideshiro Akiya and Managing Director Kiyoshi Komatsu.
In their meeting, Ambassador Lukumwena said that cultural exchange has the capacity to bridge the divides among different peoples and that he looked forward to working together with Min-On in promoting goodwill and understanding between his country and Japan. He sees the exchange of musical culture as a remarkable opportunity to create new value by bringing together children around the world, not only for the Democratic Republic of Congo but for all of Africa as well.
Following their discussion, Ambassador Lukumwena toured the Min-On Music Museum’s collection of classic pianos and music boxes.
