On September 24, 2025, Her Excellency Francisca Domingos Tomás, Governor of Manica Province of the Republic of Mozambique, paid a courtesy call on the Min-On Culture Center in Tokyo. She was led by Mozambique Ambassador-Designate Alberto Paulo and two embassy officials. Governor Tomas was in Japan as part of a diplomatic delegation for Expo 2025 Osaka and accompanied by 11 provincial officials.

The delegates were welcomed by Min-On President Koji Yamaguchi, Executive Managing Director Hideshiro Akiya and Managing Director Kiyoshi Komatsu.

In their meeting, Governor Tomás agreed with Min-On’s founding spirit that music served to connect people on a profound level; she also shared her hopes that Min-On’s cultural exchange initiatives with her country would continue in the future. The Mozambican representatives later toured the Min-On Music Museum’s Classic Piano Room and Automatic Instrument Room.

On this occasion, Governor Tomás presented Min-On with the Mbira, a traditional Mozambican thumb piano.
