On March 25, a high-ranking delegation from the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire officials led by Her Excellency Françoise Remarck, Minister of Culture and Francophonie, and His Excellency Ipo Gbolié Désiré Wulfran, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Côte d’Ivoire to Japan, called on the Min-On Concert Association in Tokyo. They were met by Min-On President Koji Yamaguchi and Vice President Yasuharu Ito and other association officials.

In their meeting, Minister Remarck described cultural exchange as an instrument to create new values that bring the people of Côte d’Ivoire and Japan closer together. She also expressed joy that Min-On was actively promoting mutual understanding to help forge stronger bonds of bilateral goodwill and friendship.

Later that evening, Min-On held a special concert honoring Minister Remarck’s visit at its Min-On Culture Center Music Hall, where some 100 dignitaries attended, including ambassadors from various African nations, officials of Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and representatives of business enterprises.

In his speech, Ambassador Ipo cited Min-On for its steadfast commitment to the flourishing of diverse cultures worldwide and for providing different cultures the opportunity to express themselves freely and shine to their fullest.

Minister Remarck was equally gracious, pointing to Min-On’s efforts to promote harmonious coexistence through music and, while valuing the performing arts as a tradition, discovering new trends in the medium.
