On December 3, 2023, the Min-On Concert Association organized the Kyoto International Students Music Festival, which featured 33 students from nine countries who are currently studying at eight universities in the Kansai region. The event showcases the songs and dances of the students’ respective countries before an enthusiastic local audience.
For the music festival’s finale, the entire cast, including the Japanese backstage staff, took to the stage to give a rousing rendition of “Heroes of Peace.”
Min-On’s international student music festival is part of its broader public service initiative that is funded by contributions from the Association’s membership program. The event was first held in 1989.
