On November 7, His Excellency Alexander Salas Araya, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Costa Rica to Japan, paid a courtesy call on the Min-On Concert Association. He was welcomed by Min-On President Kazuto Ito, Managing Director Hideshiro Akiya and Managing Director Kiyoshi Komatsu.
In their meeting, Ambassador Salas Araya said that his country was blessed with natural splendor and rich in culture with a highly diverse population. He was particularly proud of its longtime support for the abolition of nuclear weapons, while renouncing a homeland military force and adopting policies to advance peace. Lauding music as a highly effective communication tool that brings people and countries together, the ambassador expressed his desire to work with Min-On in promoting cultural exchange in their shared effort to build peace worldwide.
Ambassador Salas Araya later toured the Min-On Music Museum and its collection of classic pianos and music boxes.
