自1975年民音开始与中国交流以来，至今曾邀请40余中国文化艺术团体来日演出，于全国举办了超过2000次的公演。 在民音创办50周年的2013年，邀请了中国沈阳杂技团来日演出。当时日中关系处于自邦交恢复以来最恶劣的状态，但并没有阻断文化的交流。 当时的预定是在3月至5月之间，于全国41城市演出。但由于团员们强烈要求“要为东日本大地震的灾区尽一点力，让灾民也能看到我们的演出”，特别添加了于海啸受害最大的岩手县大船渡市、宫城县石卷市和福岛县岩城市三个地方进行免费的友好公演。...
