自1975年民音開始與中國交流以來，至今曾邀請40餘中國文化藝術團體來日演出，於全國舉辦了超過2000次的公演。 在民音創辦50周年的2013年，邀請了中國瀋陽雜技團來日演出。當時日中關係處於自邦交恢復以來最惡劣的狀態，但並沒有阻斷文化的交流。 當時的預定是在3月至5月之間，於全國41城市演出。但由於團員們強烈要求「要為東日本大地震的災區盡一點力，讓災民也能看到我們的演出」，特別添加了於海嘯受害最大的岩手縣大船渡市、宮城縣石卷市和福島縣岩城市三個地方進行免費的友好公演。...
