【MIN-ON Interview Series】 “Music Is a Vital Force That Connects People” – Interview with Tadas Motiečius & Vytautas Kiminius (Lithuania) We’re pleased to share an exclusive interview with two outstanding Lithuanian musicians: accordionist Tadas Motiečius and birbynė player Vytautas Kiminius, who performed at the Lithuania Lecture Concert hosted by Min-On in August 2025. In this interview, they speak about what makes their instruments so special—the accordion as a young yet incredibly versatile concert instrument, and the birbynė as a truly unique and rare Lithuanian instrument with no equivalent in the world. They also reflect on performing for children in Japan for the first time, Lithuania’s identity as a “singing country,” and the power of music as a vital force that connects people beyond borders.
