自1975年民音開始與中國交流以來，至今曾邀請40餘中國文化藝術團體來日演出，於全國舉辦了超過2000次的公演。 在民音創辦50周年的2013年，邀請了中國瀋陽雜技團來日演出。當時日中關係處於自邦交恢復以來最惡劣的狀態，但並沒有阻斷文化的交流。 當時的預定是在3月至5月之間，於全國41城市演出。但由於團員們強烈要求「要為東日本大地震的災區盡一點力，讓災民也能看到我們的演出」，特別添加了於海嘯受害最大的岩手縣大船渡市、宮城縣石卷市和福島縣岩城市三個地方進行免費的友好公演。...

2020年11月27日（星期五），於香川縣東香川市立大川中學，舉辦了由世界馳名的和太鼓集團「舞太鼓ASUKA組」演出的民音學校音樂會。 是在新冠疫情影響下，於四國首次舉辦的民音學校音樂會。 「舞太鼓ASUKA組」說「要把今年的所有精力都放進這次的公演中」。 勇壯而充滿魄力的和太鼓鼓聲撼動著整個會場。 出於感染對策，學生們不能高聲歡呼，但大家都把讚賞的心情表露在熱烈的掌聲中。最後全場起立鼓掌表示對演出的感謝和讚嘆。...
