In his Peace Proposal submitted to the United Nations in 2001, Min-On Founder Daisaku Ikeda said, \u201cAfrica is the birthplace of humankind. It has been a continent of hope, giving rise to a rich diversity of civilizations since ancient times which have given humanity numerous blessings in many areas, including philosophy and science. It has long been my belief that the 21st century must be the century of Africa.\u201d Based on this conviction, and to develop friendships with various African countries and contribute to the realization of an African century, the Min-On Concert Association initiated its first cultural exchange with an African nation in 1971. Since 1999, Min-On has engaged in the concert series entitled A Musical Voyage across Africa<\/em>, which aims to introduce a variety of rich musical and dance cultures unique to the African countries, each of which has its own distinctive ethnic and tribal heritage.<\/p>\n
