Imposing buildings, including the Government House of Belarus and a church, flank the square. Beneath it lies an enormous underground shopping mall, offering plenty of opportunities to shop.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-19200\" src=\"https:\/\/www.min-on.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Belarus_14-copy.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1086\" height=\"434\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Diverse cultural attractions and historic districts<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A little farther from the city center are a number of cultural attractions, including the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theatre and the strikingly shaped National Library of Belarus.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-19186\" src=\"https:\/\/www.min-on.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Belarus_16.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"733\" height=\"973\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Minsk is also notable for its historic streetscapes. Made from grated potatoes, these pancakes offer an irresistible contrast between their crisp exterior and soft, chewy center. The country has a rich musical heritage deeply intertwined with people\u2019s everyday lives, from seasonal festivals and agricultural work to weddings.
