Cet appareil utilise un transmetteur muni d\u2019une pointe de style qui grave des empreintes sur un cylindre en cuivre envelopp\u00e9 dans du papier d\u2019aluminium, afin d\u2019enregistrer et de reproduire les sons.<\/p>\n<p>Ce phonographe \u00e0 cylindre Ambelora Edison Mod\u00e8le 30 \u00e9quip\u00e9 d\u2019un pavillon, fabriqu\u00e9 en 1919 par Edison, Co., \u00e9tait destin\u00e9 \u00e0 \u00eatre utilis\u00e9 exclusivement avec des disques cylindriques, lesquels permettaient une \u00e9coute de 4 minutes au plus.  Les disques cylindriques standard d\u2019Edison avaient un diam\u00e8tre de 2,25 pouces environ, une longueur de 4 pouces et une dur\u00e9e de 2 minutes.  Cependant, avec ses disques \u00ab Blue Ambelor \u00bb, le temps maximal passait \u00e0 quatre minutes.
